Northern Iowa dealing with heavy snow, again

(FRANKLIN COUNTY, Iowa)   An Iowa State Patrol Trooper has shared this snowy image today (Wednesday), from I-35 in Franklin County, in north central Iowa.  Many roads in northern Iowa are still snow-covered, as of Noon.   

Parts of Iowa have received between 4-8 inches of snow as of Noon.  Forecasters with the National Weather Service predict  6-10 inches of snow along and north of US Highway 18.   Forecasters say some areas could see up to a foot of snow.   Areas along Highway 30 could pick up 1-3 inches of snow, and trace amounts south of I-80.

A winter storm warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday for a large part of northern Iowa.

Road conditions in northern Iowa are improving as of 2 p.m.
