ELDORA, Iowa- A staffer at the Eldora Boys State training school suffered serious injuries, after a resident threw a punch earlier this month.
An Iowa Department of Human Services spokesman tells WHO Radio news a student became agitated, staffers were called to take him away from a group activity, the student agreed to leave, but when security staff escorted him out of the building, he turned back and punched a staff member in the face.
The DHS says some of the injuries the staffer received will result in permanent damage, and the injuries will require extensive, long-term treatment.
The incident happened May 5th, and was the second incident in recent weeks at the Eldora State Training School.
