Iowa State Patrol says drunk driver pulled over going 107

Iowa State Patrol

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - An Iowa State Patrol Trooper says he stopped a pickup near Cedar Rapids that was going 37 miles an hour over the speed limit, with blood alcohol more than twice the legal limit.

Sergeant Nate Ludwig tells iHeartRadio News that the man was driving from Des Moines to Dubuque Sunday night when he was pulled over around 11:00 p.m.

Ludwig says the man tested with 0.182 BAC.

He says the Iowa State Patrol has been seeing a lot high speed drivers who've been drinking or using drugs.

"We put a lot of these on our Facebook page, with high speed and high impairment." Ludwig says. "It's just shocking to some people, but it's not shocking to us. We see it all the time." He said.
