Rain, snow and ice move back in-ice storm warning tonight for S. Central IA

Residents of three south central counties in Iowa are bracing for an ice storm. At the same time, much of central and northern Iowa have more rain, ice and snow to look forward to in the coming days.

The National Weather Service issued an Ice Storm Warning for Wapello, Appanoose and Davis Counties starting at midnight. Residents of those counties could experience power outages due to lines downed by the heavy ice. Road conditions will be dicey.

For all of central and northern Iowa, a winter weather advisory's in effect until 6pm Thursday night. One to three inches of snow is expected with around a tenth of an inch of ice.

In the wake of all this, area schools are once again looking at whether to close schools Thursday. Check the latest closings and cancellations at this link .
