Iowa man sentenced to 100 years for murdering eight-month old daughter

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Des Moines man who was still an underage teen when he killed his baby gets 100 years in prison.

Jaydon Straight was sentenced by a jury Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder, child endangerment, and willful injury.

Eight-month-old Raija died of multiple skull fractures, a ruptured spleen, broken ribs, and other injuries after then 17-year-old Straight brought the baby to the Mercy Medical Center. The girl's mother says the baby was shaken and repeatedly hit by her father.

Straight turned 18 a few weeks after his daughter died.
