ARL says over 400 animals rescued from northeast Iowa zoo

MANCHESTER, Iowa - The Animal Rescue League of Iowa says more than 400 animals have been rescued from a zoo in northeast Iowa.

Every building at the Cricket Hollow Zoo in Manchester had been cleared Monday but when rescuers returned Thursday, they found new animals placed inside those buildings.

KCRG-TV9 reports the group took in animals including llamas, parakeets and opossums but said many more animals are still missing.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Animal Legal Defense.

A judge had ordered to have the animals removed because of poor living conditions.
