Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Cedar Rapids Shooting

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A man's in the Linn County Jail, after police say he shot another man. Officers were called to a home at 2624 30th Street Southwest Sunday, February 6th and found a man shot in the leg. Witnesses told police three people entered the home and kicked in a bedroom door and shot 38-year-old Michael Woodward.

Fifty-four-year-old J. Reese Jones has been charged with Attempted Murder, Burglary 1st, Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Going Armed with Intent.

Woodward was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
