(Des Moines, IA) -- A man is facing multiple charges after being arrested in multiple burglaries on Des Moines' south side.

The Des Moines Police Department says 46 year-old Jeffrey Sickels is being charged with two felonies related to HVAC systems being stripped of copper at several churches and commercial properties starting in late 2023. DMPD says the case has been under investigation for months, leading to Sickels' arrest. He's being held at the Polk County Jail. Additional charges are expected.

DMPD says repair costs to the churches and commercial properties are estimated to be near $100,00.
