(Linn County, IA) -- The Linn County Attorney's Office is asking a judge to increase bond for a man accused of kidnapping a woman, whose body was found Sunday. Twenty-three-year-old McKinley Louisma's bond is $50,000. The request is to raise it to a half million, cash only bond. The County Attorney cites Louisma's criminal history, saying he's a danger to the public. Melody Hoffman's body was found near Amana Lily Lake. Investigators say the 20-year-old Hoffman of Marion, and Louisma had been in a relationship.

"The State believes that the nature and circumstances of the allegations in this offense as summarized in the probable cause section of the criminal complaints warrant a higher bond than what was imposed."

Iowa's News Now reports a court filing points to another person allegedly involved in Hoffman's killing, but no other charges have been filed in the case at this time.
