Crews from across the Des Moines metro responded to a house fire this morning on the city's East side.
It happened at a home near Copper Creek Lake just before six this morning. Fire officials say they believe this started from a grill or a smoker behind the house.
Two people were in the house and got out safely.
Crews from Altoona, Johnston, Bondurant, Pleasant Hill, and others were called in to assist with putting out the fire.
