An early-morning house fire causes significant damage to a home in Marshalltown.
Fire crews responded to a home on the 1900 block of S. 5th Avenue just before 4:30 on Monday morning.
The Marshalltown Fire Department says on Facebook that firefighters were battling the fire for approximately three hours, with wind gusts between 17 to 32 miles per hour on the scene.
No one was home at the time or injured in the fire, and the cause remains under investigation.
