Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing At DSM International Airport

(Des Moines, IA) -- An international flight from Las Vegas to Toronto, Canada made an emergency landing at the Des Moines International Airport after the cockpit filled with smoke Wednesday afternoon.

Sarah Hoodjer, the Des Moines International Airport Communications, Marketing, and Air Service Development Manager, confirmed with WHO Radio News that the DSM International Airport received a call from air traffic control that the Air Canada flight needed to make an emergency landing. The flight landed safely at 4 p.m., and passengers were able to deplane.

The cause of the smoke is still under investigation.
