(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Linn County gaming officials say the time to question the language in the 2021 referendum on a casino for Cedar Rapids has long past.

A Cedar Rapids Gazette reports says that's the argument Cedar Crossing leaders will make to a judge in Mount Pleasant next month when a hearing opposing the issuing of a gaming license for Linn County takes place.

Riverside Casino has filed the petition to have the decision nullified.

Linn County officials say Riverside waited too long to question the referendum language, and doesn't have standing to file the case.

The hearing is scheduled for May 7th.
