(Des Moines, IA) -- A new disaster bill is now law, providing extra assistance to Iowans affected by severe weather.

Senate File 619 aims to provide extra support to Iowans affected by severe weather, particularly the strong tornadoes and widespread flooding in the spring of 2024. The new law hopes to streamline disaster assistance efforts and make it easier for Iowans to get the help they need following severe weather. Governor Kim Reynolds signed the bill on Tuesday.
