(Des Moines, IA) -- Students and educators across the state of Iowa gathered before the school bell to participate in National Day of Action protests.

The rallies, organized by the 50501 Movement, aimed to raise awareness about the impact of public education funding cuts. The protests were part of a larger nationwide movement that included various activities such as marches, rallies, and walk-ins. 70 schools across the state participated in the May Day protests.
