(West Des Moines, IA) -- The City of West Des Moines receives quarter of a million dollar donation.
Hy-Vee awarded the city a $250 thousand dollar donation to be used in the development of the Legacy Woods Recreational Area. As a result, the public-private project has raised $1.5 million dollars, with an end goal of $4.5 million. The project's goal is to provide a space where people can enjoy natural resources and recreational spaces at the old Nazarene Church camp site at Grand Avenue and Fuller Road.
The City of West Des Moines acquired the land in 2023.
