(Des Moines, IA) - Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer has officially announced her bid for state auditor in 2026.
She announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination in a post on X. The position is currently held by Rob Sand, the only statewide elected Democrat. Cournoyer became lieutenant governor in December 2024, after Adam Gregg stepped down.
