(Stanhope, IA) — A meat producer is facing multiple felony charges for mislabeling and selling products to a local restaurant. Wesley Zanker, 46, owner of Stanhope Locker, is charged with ongoing criminal conduct and first-degree fraudulent practice.

He is accused of shipping mislabeled products on more than 35 occasions over a two-year period to Whatcha Smokin’ BBQ and Brew in Luther. Court records state that he sold 6,894 pounds of ring bologna to the restaurant between October 2021 and August 2023.

Zanker has pleaded not guilty and is expected in court on June 17 of this year.
