(Fort Dodge, IA) -- Fort Dodge police say a shooting that occurred earlier this week was an act of self-defense.

According to authorities, the individual who fired the shot, now considered the victim, acted after another person began swinging a hacksaw at him multiple times on Sunday afternoon. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Christopher Kockorsky, was struck in the arm and is now facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
