Bill Banning Use of Eminent Domain for Carbon Pipelines Advances to Gov.

(Des Moines, IA) -- A bill that would ban the use of eminent domain for carbon capture pipelines is heading to the Governor's desk.

House File 693 also tweaks the responsibilities of the Iowa Utilities Commission when considering proposals for other similar projects. Opponents call it bad policy, while supporters say it's about property rights. The Governor now has three options: sign it, reject it, or take no action.
