(Perry, IA) -- Meatpacking giant JBS USA plans to build a 135-million dollar sausage processing plant that will eventually employ 500 people in Perry.

The town lost more than 12-hundred jobs when Tyson Foods Closed its plant in Perry last year. JBS is proposing a 150-thousand square foot plant on 90 acres next to Perry's industrial park on its southeast side.

They say they'll produce 130 million pounds of sausage each year at the new plant.
