(Des Moines, IA) -- A senior professional golf tournament returns to Des Moines today. Benefiting children’s charities such as United Way of Central Iowa, Blank Children’s Hospital, and Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa, the Principal Charity Classic tees off today at the Wakonda Club.
Former major tournament champions, including Tom Lehman and Ernie Els, will compete for a share of the $2 million purse. Since its inception in 2007, the tournament has raised over $62 million for local children’s charities.
