Des Moines Police say a suspicious package near the Neal Smith Federal Building in Downtown Des Moines is not dangerous.
DMPD says the Federal Protective Service requested assistance on Wednesday afternoon with investigating the package that had been placed outside the building, near a sidewalk.
Police say the package is not an explosive or other dangerous device.
It has been turned over to the Federal Protective Service for further investigation.
