Iowa State Patrol Led on 114-mile An Hour Chase Around Des Moines

Des Moines, IA — A Clive man was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase through Des Moines early Saturday morning. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 18-year-old Edwin Torres was clocked driving at 114 miles per hour on I-235.

Torres failed to stop for an officer and continued driving at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone on I-80. He eventually exited onto Hubbell Avenue, where he lost control of his vehicle.

He was arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, speeding, reckless driving, and possession of alcohol.
