(Iowa City, IA) -- Another Democrat is seeking the party's nomination for the first Congressional district seat. Christina Bohannon will run for the third time since 2022. Outside of politics, she's a law professor at the University of Iowa. The seat is currently held by Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks. Bohannon has earned the nomination but lost the general election twice before, most recently by about 800 votes in 2024. Former state legislator Bob Krause and University of Iowa Health Care employee Travis Terrell are also in the mix for the nomination.
