Large Crowds To Attend Fourth Of July Events In Des Moines Thursday Night

(Des Moines, IA) -- Big crowds are expected to attend three separate Fourth of July events in Des Moines Thursday night.

The Yankee Doodle Pops performance at the Iowa State Capitol campus, followed by the annual fireworks display, typically draws about 100,000 people. Des Moines Police say on-site and street parking is limited and they suggest using the city's parking app for more options. City Parking App.

Also downtown tonight is the Iowa Cubs Baseball game and fireworks show at Principal Park. Gates open at 6:08 and arriving early is recommended. Event information.

And President Trump is speaking at the Iowa State Fairgrounds tonight. Recommended parking is off of East University Avenue on the north side of the fairgrounds.
