(Grimes, IA) -- People in Grimes will see smoke as part of a controlled burn today.

The Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire District will be conducting the controlled burn at a home starting at 9am as part of a training exercise. The home will be entirely burned down by 4pm Tuesday. The home being burned for the training exercise is located at 313 SE Ewing Street. The Fire District says people in the area who see smoke should not be alarmed, and traffic in the area could see slight delays.

The Fire District says it will be in control of the burn and will cancel it if wind speed increases.
