A boy is in hospital after a shooting in the Cheatom Park neighborhood in Des Moines.
Police responded to the 1100 block of 10th street just after 4:30 p.m. on a report of gunfire.
As officers arrived, a person with a gunshot injury arrived at a local hospital.
The boy is expected to survive.
