(Oskaloosa, IA) -- An apartment building in Oskaloosa was struck by lightning during last night’s storms.

According to the Oskaloosa Fire Department, the building’s chimney was struck around 5:00 p.m. yesterday. Initially, six apartments were evacuated, but an electrical short later caused the evacuation of the remaining residents.

Firefighters say residents are able to relocate until the chimney is removed.
