June Shows Positive Trends for the Des Moines Area Housing Market

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines area housing market showed some positive trends last month.

According to new data from the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors, there were 4,054 homes on the market in June 2025, a 20.1% increase from June of last year. Along with the growing inventory of homes in the area, the number of homes sold in the Des Moines metro also rose to 1,424, a year-over-year increase of 11.4%.

The average sales price in the area fell slightly by 0.65% to $305,000. June of this year also saw an increase in the average number of days a home spent on the market, with the overall average at 54 days.
