Firefighters Find Grenade While Fighting Eastern Iowa House Fire

(Walcott, IA) -- A bomb technician had to be called to a home in Eastern Iowa after a grenade was found following a house fire yesterday.

Walcott fire crews discovered the grenade after putting out the fire.

The bomb tech determined the grenade was a display piece and was inert.

One man was airlifted to hospital for slight burns suffered trying to put out the fire while two others people escaped unharmed.

No firefighters were injured.
