Missing Tama County Man's Car Found In Arkansas

(Ozark National Forest, AR) -- Authorities in Arkansas are searching for a missing Tama County man after finding his empty vehicle in the Ozark National Forest. The Tama County Sheriff’s Department says the car belonging to 22-year-old Nicholas Collins was discovered parked at a trailhead on Thursday. Collins was not with the vehicle.

Collins was last seen December 19th after leaving a note saying he was going away for a while. He left his home in Garwin, telling family he was traveling to Gladbrook.

Earlier this week, his car had been spotted in the Ozarks or Table Rock area of southern Missouri, helping investigators narrow their search. Deputies in Johnson County, Arkansas searched the area Thursday but did not locate Collins. The search continued Friday.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Johnson County Dispatch at 479-774-6911.
