The Ankeny, Iowa School District has implemented a "Shelter in Place" policy at Crocker Elementary, at 2910 SW Applewood Street.
Students are being kept inside, and no one is allowed in or out of the building at this time. Parents are being asked to delay arriving until the policy is lifted.
District Spokesperson Samantha Kampman says the policy was implemented due to an incident nearby involving Ankeny Police, and an individual who may have had a weapon.
We expect further information from Ankeny Police this afternoon.
