Hurricane Harvey Washes Up Deep Sea Monster Eel

Twitter user @preetalina, took to the social platform in hopes that her fellow science community could help her understand what she stumbled upon while assessing damage on a beach in Texas City following Hurricane Harvey.

She showed several shots of the creature and tweeted,"Okay, biology twitter, what the heck is this?" Her tweet reached biologist and eel specialist Dr Kenneth Tighe, who believes it is a fangtooth snake-eel otherwise known as "Tusky" and is usually found in waters between 30 and 90 metres deep in the western Atlantic ocean.
