Pickpockets strike Clive, Iowa area restaurant

(Clive, Iowa)  Clive Police say someone recently swiped a wallet out of woman's purse at a restaurant.   Detectives have checked out video surveillance footage from the business where it happened, and believe the suspect or suspects might be connected with two similar theft cases, including one in 2016.   Police believe the suspect is part of an out of state pickpocket group, that targets restaurant patrons, especially those seated in close quarters.   Early last month a similar crime was reported in Urbandale.

Police are issuing some general reminders:

Keep purses closed while being carried

Do not leave purses or wallets unattended, such as in grocery carts

Do not leave purses or wallets in unattended vehicles
