Iowa Easter weekend: Windy Saturday, chilly Sunday

DES MOINES, Iowa - Our weather will be a mixed bag over Easter weekend.

WHO TV Channel 13 Meteorologist Jeriann Ritter says today will be the warmest day of the weekend with some sun and clouds and highs in the 50s.

A strong cold front will arrive overnight Friday into Saturday and the wind will be the most noticeable difference. A rain and snow mix is possible over the northern border of the state in the morning with a dry afternoon and evening. Despite drier weather Saturday afternoon, the NW wind at 20-30 mph will impact drivers and some outdoor activities.

Easter Sunday looks to remain dry but cold. There will be some sunshine throughout the afternoon and the wind won’t be as strong. Highs will be close to 40°.
