Charges filed in Des Moines cat hoarding case

(DES MOINES, Iowa)  A Des Moines man has been charged with Animal Neglect, after more than 50-cats were taken from his home on the city's east side last month.

Leland Moffitt of Des Moines has been charged with 5 counts of Animal Neglect Causing Death and 10 counts of Animal Neglect. Animal Rescue League of Iowa staffers removed  52 living cats from Moffitt's residence.    Eight dead cats were found in the home, which had animal waste throughout.
