Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this (Tuesday) afternoon and this evening in portions of central and northern Iowa.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Des Moines say the primary threats will be large hail and damaging winds, although isolated tornadoes may occur.
Localized heavy rain will also be possible into the overnight hours as the thunderstorms persists.
