LEE COUNTY, Iowa -- Deputies of the Lee County Sheriff's office say they have found the body of a young woman in a rural area.

The Daily Gate City newspaper in Keokuk quotes Sheriff Stacy Weber as saying the body was found near the intersection of 235th Avenue and Argyle Road, outside Keokuk

In a release from the Iowa Department of Public Safety, they say the woman was in her early to mid-20's.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting Lee County in the investigation. Investigators say they have "no reason to believe" the body is that of Mollie Tibbitts, the University of Iowa student who has been the subject of a search for days.
