Simpsons Fans: A Real Kwik-E-Mart Now Exists

Maxwell, Bonnie and I were talking about the final season of "Big Bang Theory" on WHO Radio today -  it will end next May after 12 seasons.  12 seasons is an amazing life span for the show, but Maxwell noted that "The Simpsons" carries on.

"The Simpsons" is in its 29th season and began in 1989.  I remember when Bart Simpson t-shirts were a hot item in the 90s (yes, I had one, but can't remember what it said) but even TODAY, people keep coming up with new ways of expressing their love for the show.

For example, The world’s first “real,” permanent Kwik-E-Mart has opened in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Now fans of “The Simpsons” can now buy an actual Squishee from a store that is just like the one on the animated series.  Every part of the store has been approved by the show’s creators.

The new convenience store has been designed to look exactly like the one on “The Simpsons.” They sell Buzz Cola, Heat-Lamp Hot Dogs, Lard Lad Donuts, Duff Beer, and Flamin’ Moe’s energy drinks.

You can even find surprises like a box of Mr. Sparkle, which was a brand of Japanese dish soap on the show.

The Kwik-E-Mart also sells non-”Simpsons” stuff, in case you aren’t in the mood for a Squishee. And there are plans to open a version of “The Simpsons” Aztec Theater, themed after one of Springfield’s cinemas that’ll show a “4D” interactive experience with our favorite characters.

Who’s ready for a road trip to Myrtle Beach?
