Snow in the Easter weekend forecast

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa could see a return of winter over the Easter weekend.

The National Weather Service says cold, rainy weather across state late Saturday will give way to snow on Easter Sunday.

Clouds will increase across the state with showers becoming common by Saturday night.

The Weather Service says colder air late Saturday night into Sunday will change the rain to snow.

The highest chance of accumulating snowfall is over Northwest into North-Central Iowa.

Sioux City could see up to three inches of snow through the day Sunday, with one- to two-inches in Fort Dodge. Little to no snow accumulation is expected in Des Moines or Ames.
