The Scott County Jail has reported its first positive case of COVID-19 Coronavirus.
An inmate was recently booked into the jail on new charges. Before they were brought in, the inmate was tested for the virus. This inmate was not showing any COVID-19 symptoms.
The sheriff's office said the jail is well-equipped for a single infectious case with an isolation cell and protocols for inmates who have tested positive.
Staff involved in the arrest, transport, and pre-isolation of this inmate have been undergoing testing and evaluations.
