DART Now Requiring Face Masks On Buses

DES MOINES, Iowa - DART bus riders are now required to wear a mask or face covering. The stipulation went into effect Sunday, twelve days after the transit announced the policy.

Riders are encouraged to wear their own reusable mask or face covering but disposable masks will be available at the front of each bus.

DART has blocked off seats to limit capacity at 50 percent on buses. It's also installed temporary plastic barriers between the fareboxes and the operator’s seat on all buses, and is providing hand sanitizer for riders on the bus.

In addition, DART has restored service on many routes to pre-COVID levels and changed its schedule.
