Vigil Held for Missing Montezuma 11-Year-Old Boy

Montezuma, Iowa - Residents in Montezuma are trying to stay upbeat after a vigil for a missing 11-year-old boy.

Xavior Harrelson was last seen riding his bike in the town last Thursday.

The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation organized a massive search for Xavior over the weekend.

The state agency says it'll continue to search for the boy in the upcoming days after assessing its next move.

Montezuma residents got together outside of the Poweshiek County Courthouse Monday Evening for a vigil organized by Samantha Rix, a neighbor and the mother of one of Xavior Harrelson's friends.

Anyone with information about Xavior is being asked to contact the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office at 641-623-2107.

He was last seen Thursday morning wearing blue pajama pants and black shoes.
