(Cedar Falls, IA) -- A University of Northern Iowa professor is no longer teaching in-person classes for violating school policy. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports Steve O'Kane is accused of requiring his students to wear face masks and threatening to lower their grades if they didn't wear them. Northern Iowa says O'Kane is being allowed to teach online classes, but won't be eligible for merit pay this year. O'Kane tells the Gazette he plans to impose another mandate if he's allowed to return to in-person teaching in the spring.
