(Pleasant Hill, IA) -- Central Iowa parents are adjusting to different mask guidelines in some school districts for the new semester. Monday is the beginning of the Southeast Polk spring semester, and students preschool through high school are now not required to wear masks in class. The school board voted last month to make the change after winter break. West Des Moines also voted in December to end the mask mandate this semester. Des Moines Public Schools still require masks worn by students, staff and visitors.
