Omaha Fire Department investigators say a garage fire at 30th and Lafayette Avenue was accidental in nature: a fire pit placed too close to combustible materials.
Firefighters arrived Thursday afternoon to find smoke and fire coming from the detached garage.
The fire department says a resident attempted to put out the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters.
That person suffered minor burns to the face, which were treated at the scene;
The fire was under control in a short time.
