(Rock Island, IL) -- Drivers can expect construction between the Mississippi River Bridge and the Milan Beltway to last until November as crews work on pavement patching and resurfacing on the I-280 and ramps at the Illinois 92 interchange.

The work zone for the $24 million project extends from the Sgt. John F. Baker Jr. Mississippi Bridge to the east of the Milan Beltway.

The project is part of the Illinois Department of transportation's Rebuild Illinois plan to improve roadways and bridge decks statewide.

Over the next six years, Rebuild Illinois is investing about $33.2 billion into modes of transportation in the state with roughly $8.6 billion worth of improvements to be completed by year three.
