(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Arts Festival is now accepting entries from central Iowa schools for the 2026 Student Art Exhibition.

Iowa elementary or secondary schools can submit up to four works of art created in the 2025-26 school year. Colleen Murphy, Director of Community Relations with the Des Moines Arts Festival says:

"The teachers will actually deliver that artwork to our office. We'll professionally mat it and label it with the student's name, and the school, and their grade, and so everything's placed on professional matboard for display in exhibition at the festival."

In addition to the display, student artists will receive special recognition at the Visionary Artist Ceremony, which will be held on the Des Moines Arts Festival's Main Stage. After the festival, the student artwork will be on display at Green State Credit Union locations until September, at which time student artists will be able to take their artwork home.

Schools must submit the School and Student Artwork Information form by April 26th to have their artwork selected. The form is available on the Des Moines Arts Festival website.

The 2026 Des Moines Arts Festival runs from June 26th through June 28th at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines.
