(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department's Special Victims Section is filing additional charges in an ongoing sex abuse material investigation.
Derek Adam Hartline was arrested on March 19th and charged with one count of bestiality. Police say the investigation into Hartline continued following his arrest, and detectives later found additional evidence, including child sexual abuse material and bestiality material.
Hartline now faces 25 charges, including:
- Sexual Exploitation of a Minor - Class C Felony (17 counts)
- Sexual Exploitation of a Minor - Class D Felony (3 counts)
- Bestiality - Aggravated Misdemeanor (5 counts)
The investigation into Hartline is ongoing.
